Its name…
Built in 1901, the Hôtel de la Cigogne, whose name draws its origins in the fact that Geneva used to be a regular stop in the storks' migration, opened its doors the following year, in 1902.

Its history…
History says that a wine grower of Dardagny, a village in the Genevan countryside, about fifteen kilometres from the downtown area, designed and planned the project. Since at that time a whole day was necessary for him to do the outward/return trip from his cellar to the city, he had the idea to create a restaurant. This gave him the opportunity of selling his wines more easily. The establishment had, apparently, at the time quite a good reputation and had become the meeting place of the politicians and lawyers of the courthouse.

Keys
Before going out and when checking out, please leave your key at the reception.

Luggage
Please contact the reception in order to have your luggage brought down to the lobby or to our storage room.

Letter & invoice
The message left during your absence will be given to you with your key.
The reception will assist you with your photocopying or fax requirements.
Bills may be settled in cash or by credit card. Cheques are not accepted. In case of a long stay, the reception will present you a weekly statement, which you are kindly requested to check, and settle upon receipt.
